This painting of white poppies against an abstract background is the outcome of my practice session attending a workshop at the Milan Art Institute ("50 Ways to Lay Down Paint"). An enjoyable and beneficial method for me to explore acrylics and painting techniques.

After attending the workshop, I was satisfied with the outcome of the background. But, even though it was meant to be an abstract painting, I felt it needed something extra.

So, enjoying the effects created with a palette knife, I added the poppies in white to make them stand out against the vibrant background.

While I definitely need more practice both with acrylics and using a palette knife, I am quite satisfied with the results.
